Ballerz Take a Commanding Lead in League Standings

The Ballerz had a perfect Saturday defeating the streaking Pink Panthers in the morning session 39-32 behind strong the defense and clutch scoring of Trevor Brookhart (12 points). The Panthers were lead by League Scoring Leader Alex Murri with 22 points in a losing effort.

In the night cap, The Ballerz handily dispatched the Sharks 53-44 behind Brookhart’s 18 points, 14 of which came in the 25 point first quarter for the quick starting black team. The Ballerz have all but clinched the regular season championship and can do so with a win against Team on Thursday at 8:00 PM. If they lose and the Wolverines win, the two teams will square off in the final game of the season to vie for regular season bragging rights and the first seed in the tournament.

In other outstanding Saturday performances, all 10 players on 10 Guys scored in a 42-24 win over Money. They were lead by Jonathan Kimmett with 12 points.

PPE defeated The Reds 50-45 on the back of an outstanding career high performance by Chance Brunner with 26 points. The Reds were lead by Vince Bellow and Camden Tofil with 11 each and Blaine Roach with 10 points. This was a one point game going in to the fourth quarter. Brunner and Joshua Hooper (14.3 ppg) took over and scored a combined 15 points, including 9 of 13 from the charity stripe down the stretch, to seal the deal.

The dynamic duo of Ryan Scheufele and Alexander Vucco scored 17 each in a convincing 49-23 win over the Supersonics. Scheufele hit 5 threes to overtake CJ Mackinson two one for the three point race. The Sonics were lead by Kevin Maggio with 9 points.

In the upset of the day, The Pink Panthers suffered an unlikely 33-30 defeat at the hands of the previously 1-10 Crush to fall out of the running for the regular season championship. The Crush were lead by Parker Kleb with 11 and Bryan Costabile with 10. Alex Murri poured in 17 points for the losers.

Maroon 10 turned on the offense against the winded Supersonics 55-37 in a game that featured outstanding performances from Jamison Gomsak with 20 points and Matthew Wade with 13 points. Gold Rush defeated Money 36-29 lead by CJ Mackinson with 18 points. Money was lead by Gerald Matthews with 11 points.

10 Guys “housed” ABB for their second win of the day 64-29 over the Luthe coached Almost Brown Bombers who were missing their top two scorers…(I hope it wasn’t the track meet). At any rate, the 64 points posted by the streaking 10 Guys team is the highest point total for any team this season and put the rest on the league on notice that they are a team to be dealt with. Jonathan Kimmett had a career high 19 points and Casey McNulty also had a career high with 17 points. Every Player that played for ABB scored topped by Tyler Roach with 9 points.

The Wolverines were unceremoniously dumped by the Waffles 35-33 in a game dominated by defense. Alexander Vucco had 14 for the winners and Jared Cirulli had 12 for the losers as The Blue Waffles and the Wolverines make their final runs toward favorable seedings in the post season.

The Purple People Eaters recorded their second win of the day over The Thunder 45-28 to move into a tie for 7th place in the standings. Their balanced scoring attack featured Joshua Hooper and Chance Brunner with 10 points each. The depleted Thunder team was lead by Justin Lamb with 8 points and Ryan Connolly with 7 points.
