The First FABL Showtime Top 10 Coaches Poll

FABL TOP 10 Coaches Poll

#1 AVERAGE JOES (94) – This team Scores consistently led by Jordan Lurman with 16.00 ppg, Trevor “T-Mac” Mackinson with 12.33 ppg and 8 3 point bombs, Camden Tofil with 9.33 ppg and Alec Pellicotti with 7.67 ppg. They have good size and can hurt you on both the inside and the outside. The only question mark is the defense. They give up an average of 37.5 points per game.

#2 A.B.B. (86) – Coach Luthe, coming off of a successful Liberty High School Football season seems to have carried that momentum forward into the FABL Showtime basketball season. His Bombers, led by Matthew Michael (12.33), Christian O’Hern (9.67), Hunter Hamlett (9.00), Cole Evans (8.00) and playmaker Corey Luthe (6.67), are as balanced as we have seen in FABL. The defending champs have won without challenge by an average of 21 points per game. Keep in mind that their opponents combined records are 1-8 this season but the way A.B.B. has played, they may be the class of the league.

#3 TEJAS (64) – Another rookie coach is making an early statement in 2016 as this team, led by flashy Tony Cirri with 14.67 ppg, Kevin Maggio with 9.67 ppg and Chase Whitworth with 7.50 ppg. They won their first two games easily but faced a tough challenge against the Ballerz winning in overtime on Monday night to prove they can play in the clutch. If this team can avoid being all Cirri, all the time, they can make a run at the title.

#4 PEACH FUZZ (49) – This team comes out firing and doesn’t stop until the smoke clears and the final score is up on the scoreboard. Having won their first three games while averaging a blistering 55 points per game, they stand poised to go to 5-0 at the winter break by beating the 0-3 Frick and 1-2 Sharks to finish a strong December. Coach Rosati has solid and experienced scorers in Dylan Van Reenan (12.67), Andres Pineiro (9.67), Kevin Lynch (9.33), Evan Usi (7.67) and Luke Asher (5.00). While they can shoot with any team in the league, after giving up 46 points to the Bricklayers in the opener, they have averaged 28 ppg on defense for games 2 and 3. Don’t let their youthful look fool you….have you seen “Lord of the Flies”? I’m just sayin’. Look for a fun and interesting season from this team.

#5 CRUSH (46) – The Crush won a couple of early games by a wide margin and are capable of putting up big numbers with the likes of James Toth (10.33), Kyle Sheetz (10.67) and Joshua Ruehl (10.00) all averaging in double figures not to mention Christopher Darminio (8.67) and Hunter Little (4.00) rounding out a solid core of players. Until they met the Machine this week, they hadn’t been challenged but stood up to a tough opponent in the 44-38 win. Prior to that they gave up an average of 26 ppg to their first two victims. Look for Coach Little to fine tune this machine of his own in time for March Madness.

#6 SKIDS (38) – This veteran team “housed” the Machine in the opener then has played a couple of tough games but still remains undefeated. Consistency will be needed from Gerald Matthews (7.67), Jacob Ashby (7.00) and Ethan Kiple (7.00) before they become a force to be dealt with. Kiple is the only true 3-point shooter on the team so they must depend on the drive and dish to win games. Matthews is certainly up to that job. They come out of the break with back to back to back games against Crush, ABB and Mcinturff. That is when we find out about this team.

#7 WOLVERINES (37) – This team is loaded with a great defensive mindset complimented with serious offensive firepower is Kevin Foster (14.00). Foster is helped by Cole Broomfield (7.67), Ryan Thompson (5.67), Michael Carr (4.33), Patrick Lipski (5.00) and Jamie Gaskin (4.00) all of whom are capable of big games at any time. Looking at the schedule, this team could be 7-0 before you know it.

#8 YETTIES (32) – After a tough loss in the opener to the Wolverines, the Yetties have won two high scoring contests with a combination of a decent press and consistent scoring from Jack Huey (10.0), Michael Burke (10.00) and Braden Lee (9.33). This team has high expectations and either Nolan Korfanta (4.67) or Preston Ricks (4.67) are going to have to step up to make this team be as good as they can. Their real test comes in early January when they go back to back against the Machine and the Panthers.

#9 G.O.A.T. (29) – The big question on this team is whether one basketball is going to be enough to make both Cole Casey (16.67) and Toby Liska (16.50) happy while still involving the other players on the team. Early observations are that they take too many threes and need better balance on offense. If Liska and Casey can make the players around them better, there is no telling how far they could go.

#10 MACHINE (27) – At 1-2, this team can right the season real quick with some upset wins in the next few games. They have three games in a row against Top 10 teams and these games can and will define their season. Led by Brendan Shipley (10.00) and Ryan Burrows (7.67), there is a need for serious production from the Kirin brothers, Jake Hillman and Calvin Hammett. Coach Hillman says these boys can play….now is a good time to prove it!!
