WHAT DO YOU MAKE WITH TOILET PAPER, BREAD AND MILK!!??

Just getting back from Martins after an emergency shopping trip because you can’t survive a blizzard without Campbell’s Bean and Bacon soup, Zagnut bars and Count Chocula cereal when in line in front of me I noticed this lady who had one huge package bulk toilet paper, six loaves of Wonder bread and 4 gallons of milk, the good stuff…2%….Oh, and by the way, one item over the 10 or less!!!!  After getting over my initial fit of anger where I was going to suggest that she put the toilet paper back so she could comply with the 10 or less rule….clearly merely a suggestion to some people, I worked up a smile and struck up a conversation about our impending doom coming on Saturday night.

Now that we were friends, I asked about her limited shopping list of TP-B&M.  She said her four boys love French toast and she has a special recipe where she deep fries it, coats it with bacon fat and syrup and puts it in the oven for 15 minutes on 375 degrees…and I am thinking to myself “OK, now I understand all of the TP”.  She told me it was a family recipe passed down from generation to generation and its guaranteed to keep you warm and full of energy for snow removal.  Snow removal???

So, she tells me that she and her boys are in charge of all of Liberty Road and neighborhood roads from Klees Mill to Route 32….where I happen to live!!!  Now, we are real friends and I tell her how much I appreciate her and her boys efforts and even helped her get her valuable groceries to her car.  I may have mentioned to her where I live and complained about the long 200 foot pipe stem that I live on.  She said “not to worry, I am covered…HONEY!!!!”

What lesson did I learn from this story that I just shared with you?  I have no clue but at least I will have a clear driveway.

WOW…..I must have been nervous about the snow or something….tough week on the prediction front….see below!!!

Purple Rain will best Compofelice 46-38.  Missed badly as Purple Rain continues to only be one of the great rock and roll movies of all time….0-1

Thomas and Notari in a prospective Final 4 preview….Pick Thomas in a low scoring game 40-36….STRIKE 2….Notari continues to be underestimated by me….0-2

Puckett and UDGS….ATTENTION!!!!  UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!!!  Puckett is hot scoring 60 PPG in their last two outings.  Puckett by a handful 49-44.  STRIKE 3…struck out the leadoff hitting on three pitches….UDGS appears ready for Wednesday’s matchup against undefeated SOCOM….0-3

Ross and SOCOM….SOCOM is winning some close ones but this one wont be close.  Pick the camo team by a dozen in their warm up of Wednesday night match up against UDGS.  Ross played them tough until the deciding 4th quarter as SOCOM remain perfect….mental note…Ross is dangerous!!!  0-4

Clark and “Word Up”….since changing their name, Word Up is undefeated.  It will continue 44-35  I am on FIRE now…Word Up got spanked by Clark as the maroon team finally 4 quarters…also, Duncan, Marzano and Finn Clark are a force when they play together…0-5!!!!

Bolster and the Sailors…..this is a tough one.  If Bolster brings their A game look for a barn burner.  I like Orange 56-53.  Finally got one right….the Bolster defense is scary good!!!…1-5.

Davidson and Hillman…these two veteran coaches depend on tough defense to win.  I like Davidson in a low scoring affair 43-38.  OK, truth, just trying to motivate Hillman and it worked….(if you believe that, remember I am Irish)…..1-6.

Skid Marks and Blueberries…both of these teams “stained” the floor with losing performances this week….Blueberries will win this because of their size advantage 58-49.  What was I thinking?!?!  Blueberries are like Jekyll and Hyde….I am going to pass on predicting their next game….1-7.

Owens and Bufano….Owens plays a lot of close games while Bufano either manhandles you or gets manhandled.  This is an exciting matchup between two veteran coaches.  Look for a shootout with Owens picking up a key 58-54 win.  So key players pulling the “no show” doomed the red team….I should never pick against Coach Bufano in an 7:00 game on the 4th Saturday in January, on an even year, when there is a Republican in the White House and there is a pending snow storm…I will never learn….1-8 is a laughable effort on my part.
